Hello, I’m Mark Chapman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with 35 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse. I have worked in various settings, from outpatient therapy to acute care psychiatric hospitals, which has honed my skills in addressing complex trauma and co-occurring mental health issues. I am committed to helping individuals navigate these challenges with a deep understanding of their struggles.
As a young adult, I struggled to find a fulfilling career until I volunteered at a Youth at Risk program in Dallas. This experience, working with inner-city teens facing trauma, sparked my passion for helping others. I pursued a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas, followed by a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. My career path took me from psychiatric hospitals to Fort Hood (now Fort Cavazos), and even to Germany where I contracted with the Department of Defense working with service members coming out of combat zones.
After years of working with dual diagnosis clients, I realized that trauma treatment was my true calling. This led me to Finding Freedom Therapy, where I now focus on helping individuals who have experienced trauma. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy. I am in network with BCBS, Medicare, Tricare, TriWest, and the Assist the Officer Foundation (ATO). I am dedicated to being a supportive ally in your healing journey.
